Hellenic League
Brimscombe & Thrupp’s impressive first season in the Hellenic League Division One West continued with a 3-0 home win over Easington Sports. All the goals came in the last five minutes of the match from David Woodfield and a brace from John Dalton.
Clanfield’s first home win of the season remains as elusive as ever, this time being held to a 2-2 draw by New College Swindon. Both sides benefited from an own goal with Robbie Harrington scoring Clanfield’s second and Todd Hathaway likewise for the visitor’s.
Hook Norton made short work of Cricklade Town winning 5-0 with two goals from Jamie Wyatt, a goal each from Chris Tillcock and Neal Hobday and an own goal.
Carterton earned a welcome point away at Lydney Town drawing 1-1. Yasir Mahmood scored for Carterton with Steven Jones equalised for Lydney.
Trowbridge Town went down 5-1 at home to Winterbourne United, Jack Pitcher and Sam Vile both scored twice for Winterbourne with Ben Dowdell adding the other goal. Emilio Menghini was on target for Trowbridge.
Old Woodstock Town and Wootton Bassett Town fought out a goalless draw leaving Tytherington Rocks well clear at the top.

Premier Division
Ardley United travelled to Abingdon Town scoring four first half goals without reply. Ryan Brooks notched a hat trick and Troy Bryan added Ardley’s other goal with Mark Janes replying for Abingdon Town.
Oxford City Nomads won 2-0 at Flackwell Heath with the goals coming from Albi Skendi and Conor McDonagh.
Shortwood United were back in league action and were held to a 1-1 draw at Reading Town. Mike Haddock opened the scoring for Shortwood but Dan Lingwood scored a late equaliser for Reading to share the points.
Highworth Town recorded a 4-1 win at Wantage Town. Gavin Jones opened the scoring for Wantage but two goals from Josh Parsons together with strikes from Ben Curtis and Rory Sproule saw Highworth take the points.
Binfield beat Fairford Town 4-1. Callum Whitty set Binfield on the way and further goals came from Josh Millar and a double from Stuart Tanfield. Joe Dorey netted the Fairford consolation.
Ascot United drew 1-1 at home with Cheltenham Saracens. Tim Standing scored for Ascot with Jack Oldham doing likewise for Saracens.
Kidlington had a welcome win beating struggling Witney Town 3-1 with goals from Danny Mason, Danny Leggett and Ryan Curtin, the Witney reply came from Shaun Webb.
Shrivenham lost 2-1 to Thame United with the visitor’s goals coming from Alex Stewart and Ben Connelly, Shrivenham’s goal was an own goal.
Slimbridge recorded at 2-1 win at Wokingham & Emmbrook with goals from Marvyn Roberts and Michael Bryant. Matthew Jones scored Wokingham’s reply.

Leaders
Highmoor Ibis increased their lead at the top of the Division with a 2-0 win at lowly Milton United with Anthony Alleyne scoring both Highmoor’ goals.
Newbury slipped up at home going down 3-2 to close rivals Rayners Lane. Scorers for Rayners Lane were Lawrence Yaku, Dene and Lee Gardner. Callum Wilmoth and Ben Wickens replied for Newbury.
Abingdon United Res. drew 2-2 with Finchampstead. The Abingdon goals were scored by Steve Andrews and Chris Baker. Dan Willis and Richard Kell were on target for Finchampstead.
Didcot Town recorded a rare win beating Chalfont Wasps 2-0 courtesy of two Lee Newport goals. Maidenhead United Res. went down by the odd goal in five to Chinnor in what Maidenhead Match Secretary, Graham Alfred, described as a battle of the Centre Forwards. Maidenheads’ centre forward Anthony Mendy scored twice but Chinnor’ Centre Forward, Ryan Chapman, went one better scoring a winning hat trick.
Thatcham Town Res. went down 2-1 at home to Woodley Town. Tom Gooding opened the scoring for Thatcham but late goals from Brett Ran and Nicholas Edwards saw Woodley steal the points.
Hellenic Supplementary Cup – 2nd Round
Malmesbury Victoria from Division One West sprang a surprise beating Premier Division Henley Town 2-1 on their own patch. Mark Field and Ed Wilkins were the Malmesbury scorers with Ahmed El-Amir replying for Henley
