Bideford extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division to nine points with a 3-1 victory at Larkhall Athletic on Saturday. Ross Beazer gave the Larks a 20th-minute lead from the penalty spot, but two goals from Kevin Squire and one from Ellis Laight saw the North Devon side home.
Bideford’s day was made even better as second-placed Ilfracombe Town suffered a 3-1 setback at Bishop Sutton who have risen to fourth place. Pete Shepherd gave Sutton a two-goal advantage and Liam Farmer made the game safe with a third goal before Neil Bettiss scored a consolation goal for Town in the final minute.
Welton Rovers have now taken over in second place on goal difference after beating Melksham Town 2-0 with goals from Chris Lewis and James Billing.
Corsham Town scored their second victory over reigning champions Bitton on successive Saturday’s; running out 3-1 winners with goals from George Nash, Booker Woodford and Dan Baker after Steve Jones had given Bitton the lead in the first half.
Willand Rovers were 3-1 victors at Hallen to complete a league ‘double’ in the space of three days, having beaten the same opponents 5-1 on Wednesday. Rob Norrish, David Steele and James Ansell were their marksmen, with Andy Cook scoring a consolation goal for the home side from a penalty.
Bristol Manor Farm edged out Street 2-1 after Dan Redman had given the visitors an early lead. Luke Clark levelled for Farm and Ben Murray nabbed the winner 15 minutes from the end.
Kris Davies, Dean Stevens and Gary Fisher gave Dawlish Town a 3-1 victory over Longwell Green Sports who finished the game with only nine men after both Andy Finch and Ross Vickerman had been sent off. Chris Dauncey notched their only reply.
Sherborne Town boosted their fight against relegation by trouncing fellow battlers Radstock Town 6-0 with goals from Tony Cunningham 3, Rob Clowes, and Marc Caines 2.
Wells City also extended their lead at the top of Division One. Steve Murray 2 and Ian Howse gave them a 3-2 win over a battling Bradford Town side who had led 2-1 through Dave Percival and Jamie Jordan.
City now lead by eight points from Westbury United who won 2-0 at Gillingham Town with Wayne Whyte and Matt Smith scoring.
Odd Down lost ground when they were held 2-2 at lowly Roman Glass St. George. Nathan Baird gave Saints the lead after Matt Rawlins had missed a penalty for the Downers. Rawlins then levelled from another penalty and incredibly added another penalty to give the promotion seekers the lead. Ryan Nicholls snatched a point for the home side.
Keynsham Town moved up to third spot with a narrow 1-0 win over Shepton Mallet; Ross McNab scoring the only goal after 20 minutes.
Hengrove Athletic won 3-1 at Minehead who remain at the foot of the table. Tom Evans poked Hengrove in front early on, and Ricky Charlton doubled the lead before the interval. Andy Hall brought the home side back into the game with a free kick, but Ricky Clarke sealed the win for the visitors.
Simon Dew appeared to have won the game for Oldland Abbotonians at Chard Town when fired them ahead from the penalty spot with just five minutes remaining. However, Joe Simmons scored in the final minute to earn the struggling home side a point.
Cadbury Heath won 1-0 against Almondsbury UWE thanks to a goal from Will De Wet after 12 minutes.
Five goals after the break gave Clevedon United an emphatic win over Bridport at The Hand Stadium. Ryan King broke the deadlock and further strikes from King to complete a hat trick, an own goal by Chris Clark and one from Greg Andrews saw them home.
Lowly Devizes Town took three valuable points from a 1-0 win at Portishead Town.
