Toolstation League
Champions Truro City suffered an emphatic end to a 17-match unbeaten record when Frome Town beat them 3-0 at their Cornish home. Mark Salter 2 and Mark Peters saw the Somerset side home and guarantee them a top-four finish. Dawlish Town had already claimed the runners-up position but continued their fine form by beating Welton Rovers 3-1. Manager Chris Mountford is to leave Welton at the end of the season, saw Dean Evans give his side the lead, but the Devon side fought back thanks to Dean Stevens 2 and Antony Lynch. Hallen ended their home campaign with a narrow 2-1 defeat to Melksham Town. Dave Mogg is another manager leaving his post after the final game of the season, and he saw Ricky Trott put his side behind and Shaun Venison extend the lead before Mark Reynolds pulled a goal back for the home side. Jamie Densham scored the only goal as Bideford pipped Bitton 1-0. Chard Town will have to win their last game of the season at Melksham Town on Monday and hope that Bishop Sutton fail to win their last match. In Division One, Wellington all but secured the championship with a comfortable 3-0 win at Hengrove Athletic. Three teams share the top spot with 85 points but Wellington lead on goal difference with two games to play. Their rivals Sherborne Town and Larkhall Athletic have finished their seasons. Only a disaster i.e. losing both of their remaining matches by more than a total of eight goals can deny them the title after John Crawford, Dan Short and Craig Mawford saw off Hengrove at Norton Lane. They are assured a promotion spot along with Sherborne Town who struggled to beat lowly Backwell Utd drawing 1-1. Larkhall Athletic miss out on goal difference despite a convincing 6-1 win at Weston St. Johns. Longwell Green Sports won 2-0 at Bradford Town thanks to Neil Rosslee and Dave Parnell. Local rivals Almondsbury and Oldland Abbotonians served up a treat to end their seasons, with the visitors taking all three points by the odd goal in five. John Mitchell struck first for the home side, but John Mayo levelled for Oldland just minutes later. Jason Side gave the visitors the lead shortly after the break and Richard Johnson double the advantage on 64 minutes. Almondsbury pulled a goal back before the end through Dan Goulding.
