Bridgwater Town Res. continue to close in on the Premier Division championship with a narrow 2-1 win over defending champions Nailsea Utd. One more win will clinch the title should Shirehampton win all three of their remaining matches following their 3-3 draw at Backwell Utd on Saturday. Bishops Lydeard are favourites to finish in third spot at their first attempt following promotion last season, they edged out Mangotsfield Utd Res. 2-1 to move ahead of Taunton Blackbrook who were surprisingly beaten by bottom of the table Odd Down Res. Cleeve West Town are in further trouble at the bottom end of the table after losing 1-0 at home to Castle Cary. St. George EinG lead Division One by nine points following a convincing 4-0 win over Peasedown Athletic and can now only be denied the championship by Brislington Res. who have overhauled Fry’s Club who slipped to fourth place after a 1-1 draw at Saltford. Brislington edged out Portishead Town Res. 3-2 to move third, whilst Paulton Rovers Res. 2-1 victory over Churchill Club takes them into second place. Larkhall Athletic Res. have an outside chance after a 4-0 win over Langford Rovers but have a lot to do to pip the others. Bishop Sutton Res. sewed up the Division Two East championship by crushing Tunley Athletic 5-0. Radstock Town Res. will have to settle for the runners-up position. Hengrove Athletic Res. will finish in third place after a comfortable 3-0 victory at Timsbury Athletic Res. but Dundry Athletic could still match them on points following a 3-1 win at neighbours Cutters Friday Res.
