Oldland Abbotonians completed the first leg of the League and Cup 'double' when they defeated Cam Bulldogs 2-1 in the League Cup Final at Yate. In a match played in torrential rain at times, Jess Cole and Gemma Summers scored the goals to earn Oldland the trophy for the first time with Cam replying through an own goal from a Michelle Purse corner.
Oldland followed this up on Tuesday night by securing the Division One title with a 4-0 victory over Bristol & West. Sarah Clarkson, Lisa McCormick, Jess Cole and Gemma Summers ensured their second trophy of the season - ironically going top of the table for the first time during the campaign.
It was also a good day for Cleeve West Town as they clinched the Division Two title with a 2-1 victory against Cheltenham Town Res, with goals from Amanda Blakeley and Sam Crew. Forest Green Rovers Res must wait to see if they will finish in second after they beat Forest of Dean 3-2, Sarah Doel, Kate Walker and Vicki Keen were on target.
