Easton Cowboys have been crowned as runners-up in the First Division but only on goal difference from two other teams. On Saturday, both Ashley and Lawes Juniors could have pipped them to second spot had they scored sufficient goals in their respective matches. As it was, neither could win by more than one goal. Ashley were 3-2 winners over Clifton St. Vincent’s while Lawes Juniors won by the same scoreline against relegated Hare on the Hill. Therefore Easton finished second, Ashley third, and Lawes in fourth spot. Retainers ended the season by beating Bristol Juve 2-1. Second Division runners-up Sporting Greyhound scraped a 1-0 win over Clifton Rockets to end a fine season on a promotion note. Tebby celebrated promotion back to the Second Division with an emphatic 7-0 drubbing of Blackboy Inn but is events turned out, they were already promoted as challengers Torpedo Res. lost 2-1 at Beachcroft LLP. Easton Cowboys Res. saved themselves from relegation on the final day, winning their last match of the season 4-1 against their rivals for the drop, Sneyd Park ‘A’, who now finish in the bottom two places. LA Cricketers kept their heads above water at the bottom by taking a point from a goal less draw with Ashley Res. The Fourth Division title race was still open on the final day with Bristol Barcelona Res. taking the crown by beating Conham Rangers 3-1. Contenders Torpedo ‘A’ were held 2-2 by Hare on the Hill Res. and had to settle for the runners-up position.
