Bristol Downs League
Bristol Barcelona scored a narrow 2-1 win over Easton Cowboys to clinch the runners-up spot in the First Division behind champions Sneyd Park who picked up another point from a 1-1 draw against Portland OB. Jamaica Bell are safe from relegation which is just as well, as Torpedo trounced them 6-1. Saints OB celebrated winning the Second Division championship with a handsome 7-1 win at Tebby. Cabot Asset Finance drubbed AFC Bohemia Res. 6-1 but it was not enough to pip Torpedo Res. to the runners-up position. St. Andrew’s lifted themselves off the bottom of the table on the final day, but still face relegation despite a rousing 5-0 success at Cotswool Res. Easton Cowboys Res. sewed up the Third Division title by beating Beachcroft LLP 5-1, but as it was they had already won the crown as Bristol Barcelona Res. went down 3-s to Evergreen on the final day. Clifton Rockets Res. crushed Jersey Rangers 6-0 but had to settle for third place. LA Cricketers held Torpedo ‘A’ to a goal less draw and the point gained was enough to see them survive relegation on goal difference from Sporting Greyhound Res. who must have thought they had done enough by beating Portland OB Res. 5-1. In Division Four, Stoke Bishop crowned their first season in the league by gaining promotion on goal difference from Durdham Down Adult School. Stoke trounced Retainers ‘A’ 7-1 whilst DDAS took maximum points from a double fixture with Clifton St.  Vincent’s ‘B’ but it was all in vain. Vittoria  Inn ended their first season in the league in the bottom two places following a 6-1 defeat at Bengal Tigers and will have to apply for re-election along with Tebby Res. who completed a disappointing season with a convincing 4-0 victory over Cotham OB.
