Both Bristol & Wessex Sunday Clubs Team Jansen and Cutter Friday progressed to the quarter finals of the Somerset Sunday Challenge Cup on Sunday. Cutters were 4-2 victors over Ramblers whilst Team Jansen ran out 6-3 winners at home to Staplegrove Sports thanks to goals from Ben Crewe 2, Bradley Dunn, James Dunn, Matt Durbin and Asa White.
Cutters Friday also won the Bristol & Wessex Sunday Chairman’s Cup Final 3-2 against Team Jansen at Bristol Manor Farm F. C. on Wednesday evening and both Clubs currently hold the top two spots in the Senior Division to contest the League Championship.
Niall Loughlin notched four of the goals as Golden Lion Fishponds beat SWYD United 5-1 in the Senior division. Thomas Kelly completed the tally, with Simon Hemmings scoring United’s reply.
Alan Daines, Jonathan Kilpatrick and Danny McIlwain earned SCS Sunday edged out Zimba 3-2.
Southmead Sports consolidated their place at the helm in Division One by thrashing Real Malago 10-0. Luke Cox, Ross Davidson and Ben Fry scored hat tricks and Leighton Davidson added the other goal.
Second-placed Pied Horse were given a tough time by lowly Jaguar Colts but eventually won by the odd goal in nine. Joshua Brain, Christian Curtis, David Hill, Matthew Steadman and an own goal secured the points for the home side. The visitors hit back through James Parsons 3 and Robbie Pring.
Brislington Badgers netted eight without reply at Totterdown Rovers. Their marksmen were Nathaniel Brain 3, Ross Grimes 2, Jack Hopkins, Graeme Jenkins and Stuart Oppery.
Rob Hewlett grabbed a hat trick, Geraint Jones and Daniel Laskey one each to give Quality Finish a 5-1 victory at Amana SYF.
Badgerline pipped Real St. George by the odd goal in seven thanks to Tim Leigh, Shaun Leonard and a brace from Dan Seery.
Lee Davis notched a consolation goal for AFC Brunel as they lost 4-1 at Cutters Friday Res.
